Data Unit Converters — KB, MB, GB, TB and Bits

Every storage number you will ever read is written in one of two conventions, and the same file can be described honestly by both. These converters do the arithmetic in both systems at once so the answer never depends on which definition the other person assumed. Start with GB to MB or MB to GB for everyday sizes, use TB to GB when a drive label is involved, and switch to the bits pages when network speeds enter the picture — a 100 Mbps plan moves 12.5 MB per second, and that factor of eight explains most “slow internet” complaints.
